Day 6: Las Cruces, New Mexico

I was feeling great as I left Silver City. That show really boosted my spirits. In Taos and Albuquerque the people who listened to me were mostly already fans of me and my music, but Silver City was mostly strangers. There's something gratifying when strangers are into my music.

I drove down to Las Cruces from Silver City. The landscape was magical. Huge open spaces of desert with majestic mountains in the background.  I have been playing in Silver City and Las Cruces since about 2003 and I still feel enchanted by each town when I come to play. The first time I ever played in Las Cruces my drummer, bassist and I ended up way out in White Sands with a possible alien abduction story, but that is a story for another time.

I did not end up playing any music in Las Cruces this time. The house concert I was going to play was canceled, so I just hung out with some old friends I hadn't seen in a while. We went out and drank some amazing margaritas. One margarita was a pineapple margarita and it tasted a lot like a pina colada. It was amazingly good!
